What is pakatan harapan?

Pakatan Harapan is a political coalition in Malaysia that was formed in 2015. The alliance comprises several opposition parties, with the main members being the People's Justice Party (Parti Keadilan Rakyat), Democratic Action Party (Parti Tindakan Demokratik), and the National Trust Party (Parti Amanah Negara). The coalition's aim is to overthrow the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, which has been in power since Malaysia's independence in 1957.

In the 2018 Malaysian general election, Pakatan Harapan made history by defeating the Barisan Nasional coalition and winning a majority of seats in the Parliament, thus forming the new government. Following the election, Pakatan Harapan's leader, Mahathir Mohamad, became the Prime Minister of Malaysia for the second time since 1981.

Pakatan Harapan's platform emphasizes good governance, accountability, and transparency in government, as well as a commitment to addressing issues such as corruption, inequality, and human rights violations. The coalition also focuses on improving the economy, promoting sustainable development, and upholding democratic values in Malaysia.
